About Me
A little about me
Elizabeth Kiiskila was born and raised in Warsaw, Poland. She’s been writing stories since childhood, and after moving to Canada in 2025, she decided to pursue that passion full-time. To develop her skills, she completed a Creative Writing Class at the University of Toronto School of Continuing Studies and attended multiple workshops during the Northern BC Writers Fest. She holds a Bachelor's Degree in Psychology and is a big mental health advocate. Currently living in Prince George, BC, you can often find her in coffee shops and libraries, working on her debut novel.
In her writing, Elizabeth draws inspiration from her home country, especially the traditions and nature. It’s a way for her to stay close to her Slavic roots and share her culture with new audiences. She’s a crafter at heart, constantly finding new projects to work on and new skills to learn, recently discovering the world of sewing. Her favourite books are the ones that focus on character study and immersive worldbuilding, while sprinkling in a bit of fantasy.
About My Book
My first novel
In progressVera is a local village girl hoping to find her destined love during this year’s Kupala Night celebration. Her ritual wreath is found by Upior, a mysterious outcast, believed to be cursed by the devil. They are now a match blessed by the Gods, and Vera, faced with village rejection, has to find a way to escape her fate.
Set in medieval Poland, the novel immerses the reader in the time period. The tradition of the summer solstice, which inspired the story, is still practiced today. With themes of Slavic folklore, as well as societal pressure and finding your path, it is perfect for all audiences.
